The Square Mace Bedogol Statue is an authentic, full-scale traditional protector icon of the Dwarapala style standing firmly to guard the sacred boundary of the outer courtyard of Pura Penataran in Penglipuran Traditional Village. The statue stands atop a heavily carved stone pillar pedestal, showcasing a powerful posture adorned with detailed Balinese traditional attire and sharp, spiral-patterned shoulder regalia. The defining features of this open-air guardian are the unique square block mace held in its left hand, characterized by distinctive circular indented patterns, and its natural dark gray stone surface mottled with white weathered spots from outdoor exposure, radiating a fierce facial expression with wide eyes and protruding fangs to ward off negative energies from entering the sacred grounds.
