Ratu Pingit Temple

History and Qual Origin

According to the inscription and village records, the existence of Ratu Pingit Temple is not off the grid of Penglipuran residents from Bayung Gede Village.

  • Kubu Bayung Village: Before Penglipuran, this area was once called "Bayung Kubu," referring to the people of Bayung Gede who were commissioned by King Bangli to create a palace and live in the area.

  • PRESER: Since it's far away, the locals still have an obligation to their village. To make sure the people don't forget their ancestors and nature, it's built up to be a reminder. From the word Prettier (ancestral reminder), the name of this village later evolved into "Penglipuran."

Permanently Function and Role

It's like a typical musical order in Bali based on a concept. Tri Hita Karana, Ratu Pingit Temple acts as:
